New style Fuel Filter - Racor PFF50216

For you Canucks on this forum, just a heads up on the new fuel filter. GMC specifies new filter specs, dual pleat, 4 micron, better water separation in the new filters. I went up to the dealer today to buy one and was quoted $120 retail. That's more than double what the previous filter cost. I walked.

At Canadian Tire I found the identical Racor PFF50216 filter in a red and black GK branded box, their part number 023-3676-0. Cost $ 47!!!!!!!!

Go figure. If Canadian Tire's markup is 100%, the dealers is 500%.

When is GM going to figure out that they just royally PO customers.
Grrrrrr!!!

Thanks for the post. My filter life is down to 5% according to the DIC so I was just about to take it in to the dealer for service. I will be sure to check price now.

GM parts direct has the fuel filters, MSRP is $59.98. There price is $31.19. GM does not set the price that a dealer sells parts for. If your dealer is selling a fuel filter for $120.00 Its his loss.
