I don't have a preference of leather or cloth LS or LT.

I spoke to this fellow. Real nice guy. He was very candid and I got a good feeling from him. He is the original owner, bought brand new and dealer serviced locally in his hometown. Amsoil in everything except allison which is OEM fluids. Pulled a bumper pull 25' toyhauler and a small utility trailer. Waiting on more pictures and a VIN. I will be interested to see if its a LBZ or LLY. He will take $21k cash. He even said he would loan me the truck for the afternoon to take to the local Chevy dealer where it was bought for an inspection/scan.

Couple of small dents and the normal wear/tear of a 100k mile truck. No wrecks, body work etc.

Retiring and downsizing.

I have a call in on this one but heard nothing back yet. Lower miles, higher trim package. Like I said, leather or cloth, dont care. The lower miles are appealing . 25,000 more miles to use up before I have to start worrying about injectors.

Its interesting. How much is 25k miles worth? $3000 for injectors?? Is 25k worth $3000?? Or buy the cheaper one with higher miles and set up a little rainy day injector fund? Maybe I can get the 2005 model down a couple of thousand on price.

Throw out some ideas for me to chew on. Thanks much:)

Just got some pics and VIN on the 06. I did notice the +/- button on the gear selector lever on the column. Never seen that. Where is the tow/haul button? Looks like a pretty basic LT model. No center console etc.
Looks like it is a LLY.

Throw me a bone here people:D Newbie alert.

I am driving 5+ hrs to see this truck next Tuesday. I was also able to schedule an appointment at Edmark Chevrolet for inspection / scan etc. Edmark was where the vehicle was originally purchased.

Any input is welcome and appreciated!

even if it is a 2006 LLY it is really a LBZ engine that doesn't have the hotter LBZ tune

look at an actual LLY truck and then this one. see if the radiator is bigger. That I do not know on the interim 06 trucks, but I would imagine that is has the 30% bigger radiator than the 04.5/05 trucks have. another tipoff would be a 23" dia fan -vs- a 18" fan

04.5/05 LLYs have the flat air filter, unless they were upgraded due to overheat issues by GM

have the dealership verify for you, but the 06's will have a 32 bit Bosch computer -vs- a 16 bit computer that the real LLY engines have. the 32 bit is better of course

The +/- button indicates it is a 2006 or later. That is the manual shift control. The tow/haul button is on the end of the shift lever.

true, but they had 2 different engine designations in 06. The tail end LLY's which, as I said, were an LBZ that was detuned and the LBZ. I am just not sure if all the FIXES were incorporated on the LLY/LBZ engine. But both would have been 2006's.

Just like my truck. It is a 2004.5. Jan and Feb 2004 had the LB7 engine, March on had the LLY engine.

You just have to do your homework. If the 8th digit if the vin is a D, then it is a full blown LBZ engine

The 2004 LB7 and the 2004.5 LLY are radically different engines. Different injectors, different head configurations, different turbo and boost control, to name a few. The 2006 LLY and LBZ are identical hardware, including the Bosch FICM, and are radically different from the 2004.5-2005 LLY. The only difference between the 2006 engines is software fuel rate settings to limit the power of the early engines to the same as 2005. This persisted until the end of the "GM employee discount for all" promotion.

The VIN shown indicates it is a 2006 LLY
