New here, looking at buying a duramax LMM and wondering about hwy mpg stock and dpf deleted. Tow a bass boat and that's it, but put a lot of highway miles one. Any advice?
Thanks

Most number around here with the DPF deleted and a light foot are similar to the LBZ.
18-21mpg possible highway
16-18mpg average highway
light towing 12-14mpg
heavy towing 9-12
etc.
I can show you how to make it get 7-9mpg...at 60mph average speeds...by pulling big fiberglass parachutes! ;)

ThanksOpinion only... ==> Gasser for lower maintenance costs... It will tow the bass boat very easily and get better mileage.......... From my experience the concept of great (or even considerable for boasting) mileage is out the door wirh diesels this day and age............$0.02
Here's others' $0.02 ==> http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showthread.php?t=27168

I get 11-12 towing my boat with my 08 suburban 5.3. On the hwy I get 17 usually. I would think a diesel would get better towing mpg and same or little better on highway???

No - the numbers you are getting will be very similar, and your truck and fuel both more expensive.
If all you are doing is the bass boat, and lots of empty miles, you'd be better in a gasser...and save 7-8K in initial purchase price as well.

Diesel burners are a burden for the casual users (with all due respect to any user).

Depends how fast you are going and how "dirty" your boat is aerodynamically. My 2005 or 2007 will tow my 18' Lund (sport with full windshield) and run mid teens with ease.
I do tend to agree with the reasoning that the 1500 gassers are getting close to Dmax MPG and less up front and maintenance cost, but this goes out the window when you move to the 2500 series.
