Longtime lurker first time poster.

Basically I am looking at buying a 94 dually crew cab 4x4 with a blown 6.5. I have a 93 motor that is in good shape. My question is can I just drop the 93 in and go? I am assuming there is some wiring for the PMD that will not be needed with the mechanical injection pump. Will there be any problems with the transmission shifting or the 4x4? Thanks for your help.

Welcome aboard, finally!

Not that simple. You'll be doing a complete EFI to MFI conversion. Not a bad choice, in the opinion of many, but certainly not a "swap".

You can use the 93 long block, and swap on all the 94 accessories/brackets, timing cover (requires the crank sensor), and balancer. Essentially, replacing a bad block and retaining the original configuration.

If you attempt the EFI to MFI conversion, you'll have to accommodate several systems, including the computer, throttle (APP to cable), transmission control, and most of the electrical harness. This is the short list....There's more.
