Does anyone have a winter front for a 2005 Gmc Sierra. The dealer here in Canada says they are not available. It takes a long time for the old girl to get up to operating temperature if she is not working. Maybe someone down south knows where there is one or the dealers down there are hiding one.

Let me know please

i just ordered a ss one. half the cost of the factory gmc one and easier to keep clean. if you have the bra style you should take it off and wash it and truck if on lots of salt and slush as it will sit under it and corrode all that it contacts. was about $500 or more for the factory one. the ss one was about $190 or so. also like it because it will stop rocks from going thru and easy to put on.

what is a ss one? Where do you get it. Does it affect any of your sensors? How much does it help your truck in the cold of SK?

I've had a Cloud-Rider Stainless Steel (SS) Cold Front for my 03 since the truck was new. I use it in the the winter months - helps the engine it warm up faster and stay warm (above 180 coolant temp). If you have the outside air temp (OAT) option on your rear view mirror it may show a slightly elevated temp - especially when the truck is standing/idling or moving at lower speeds. John Kennedy also has a tech tip on his website that shows how to relocate the sensor (http://www.kennedydiesel.com/Outside%20air%20temp%20sender%20relocation.html) for a more accurate OAT reading. This applies to summer time as well.
