 Well, my big purchase of December 2000 turns twen years old today. I have the honour of driving the only 6 speed standard that my dealer ever sold!!! I guess I know why GM stopped selling them.
My question for the board is, would you keep this truck and do all repairs or buy a used 09,10 or 11 model?
I currently have 205800 kms on it, and still have 3 original injectors. The last injector was changed almost 3 years ago and I've had no troubles since. The clutch was changed about 5 or 6 years ago while they were updating the flywheel. I have the clutch they removed.
I consistantly get 20 to 22 mpg (imp gal) and have no other troubles.

If all went to plan I would likely keep this truck another 5 to 10 years and then look to upgrade although I really want to keep the manual shift.
This picture was taken in March of this year so you can see that the body is still good. Any opinions are welcome.:Dhttp://www.thedieselpageforums.com/photopost/data/500/DSC00797A.JPG

If you know and understand it I would say keep it. The DMF is quite a pain as I'm sure you have already learned, but keep the salt off the truck, the fuel clean, and drive it!

keep her!

There will be plenty of opportunities to upgrade in the future, but options for going back to a stick you like will be limited.

I'm hoping to keep mine long enough to teach my girls how to drive stick (they're 1 and 3 now)
