When changing the lift pump, do you need to bleed air out of the system? If so, where, the water drain?

I wasn't sure what I was in for when I replaced my lift pump earlier this year. But after replacing it and having it start up with no problems, I realized that the air gets bled out "automatically" by being pumped back the return line.

It may not be necessary, but the place to bleed air is the vent on top of the fuel filter.

Thanks John,
I was thinking along those lines but wanted to be sure. Air lock is not fun, particularly when it could have been avoided so easily.
