Just bought a mint condition 83 k2500 with a 6.2 in it... guy needed money and yada yada yada... would of liked on with a turbo, but i am sure i will figur out something:D...any imput on the "do's and donts" for more power on the old beast would be great..thanks in advance

The 6.2 will respond well with the addition of a Banks Turbo setup.

On this old of a rig, I would recommend a new set of head gaskets prior to installing a turbo on the engine.

The 6.2 was no powerhouse but did get some very good mileage numbers.

The 6.2 is a pretty basic V8 engine and the injection system used was nearly Bomb proof.

The injectors are good for about 100K miles and then they start to go away.

Smokey idle after a start up and some run time usually indicates injectors going away.

General condition of the engine can be seen by removing the oil fill cap with the engine at idle. Little to no blowby should be observed.

If the engine starts quickly when cold then the thing is probably in great shape.

How many miles on the clock ??
