Should I put an additive in with my oil and filter change? Any suggestions appreciated. 95 6.5 L 3/4 ton 4x4 automatic with 277000 miles. Wanna get all the life I can out of it. Thanks, George

I went with a by-pass filter set up,Amsoil.
Keeping the oil clean Is my choice.

Howdy
There is a post on this page about this. Do a search over there on "engine oil additive" and you should come up with it. Dr Lee does a good job of explaining things. Also the main thing is to make sure you change it every 3000 and use a good filter. I don't know if oil brand makes that much of a difference but changing oil does. I have a bypass/big filter setup, but I still change every 3000. Old habits are hard to change!
