My local engine rebuilder was cleaning up and he gave me a 929 block and four heads for 6.5s.
The block has spun main bearings but the cyl. bores have almost no wear at all. I believe somebody ran this engine without any oil or maybe the oil cooler line blew off.
Most of the wear in the main bearings is in the caps so I am thinking about making some splayed caps out of steel and then line boring it. I still don't think that the main bearing bores in the block would clean up so does anyone know if main bearings are available that are oversize on the o.d. The guy that gave me this block said that they are available for chevy gas engines but he wasn't sure about the diesels.
