First oil change for LML Should I use Dino or Syn?

Getting ready to change the oil after first trip and towing we have 500 miles on the truck.
Should I go with Rottella 5w40 Synthetic or Rottella 5w40 Dino ? I have heard Syn is OK on new engines but they break in better with conventional. What do yall think. PS After 450 miles brand new all towing the oil looks really dirty.

My bet is it's already as broken in as it's going to get. How much oil did it use in the first 500 miles?

It didn't use any that I could tell. It still showed full on the stick when I checked it. But it was pretty dirty. I went ahead and changed it and put dino Rottella 15w40 in it. Next change in about 2500 miles for winter I might put synthetic Rottella in it.

Curious to why after 450 miles the oil was real dirty ,as you put it. By the way how would you compare the 07 to the 2011?

We had 50 miles on it when I picked it up. Hooked up and towed hard 14500 lbs thru the mountains 450 miles to home. I always change my oil at 500 or 1000 miles on a new vehicle. I just think that first one is the most critical oil change. As to difference between our 07 and this one. No comparision. This truck is faster quiter rides better and pulls much better and gets better milage. And stops 10 times better. And hadles the wieght much better including our 4200 pin wieght this truck doesn't need the added airbags that I was running on our 07.They did thier homework on this one.
