It is too soon for me to post any really acurate mpg numbers yet because our's aint broke in yet it only has 500 miles on it. But it is getting better mpg than our 07 classic did.
Getting about 11 mpg average while towing from Columbus, OH to Emmitsburg, Md via route 70 to route 79 to route 68 to route 70 and over the mountain to Home. A lot of hills.
When running empty on the Hwy I was seeing average about 18.5 Won't know about the DEF usage until after I do the second oil change at 3,000 miles So far so good.

Just got back off a long trip this week of about 1700 miles. I now have 4900 on it but have only towed about 200 miles. Anyway this week running solo we got 17.8, 19.8, 19.9 and I still need to fill for the last tank, but it looks to be over 20. DEF message came on at 4800 saying I had 977 miles left on it.
Will be towing about 10K a total of about 1500 miles in the next couple of weeks and we will see what it does.
So far I have been very pleased with economy. It took over 15K miles before I saw 19 on my 2004 LLY.

Thanks Greg, I am getting about 19 non towing just driving around not really hwy but not city either.
And we are a dually. 690 miles on it so far. My milage did take a dive to 13 for about 15 minutes while driving at 55-60 mph this morning and then climb right back up. I think it was going thru re-gen at that point.

I wish I new when mine was in regen. It must be happening while driving.

They only regen about every 600 miles or so from what I've been able to gather. The LML regens less ofter because of the DEF injection. If you see your milage drop about 4 mpg for about 20 to 30 miles at 30 to 65 mph, then it's probably in regen mode.

I don't have the mid range interior so I don't have the instant economy reading on the DIC. I guess that could explain why some tanks are lower than others on the the same type of run.

Do you have the average economy reading? If you press the clear or reset button while the average mpg is showing it should reset the average mpg and until that settles out it for a couple of miles it will be pretty much an instant economy readout. I would think all of the trucks have the same DIC readouts

You have to have steering wheel controls to get all that. My 04 GMC was like what I have now, I put on a steering wheel that had the controls then had the computer flashed and then I had all the goodies. I suppose you can do the same to this truck, I just have not looked into it yet.

Can this be done with say an 02 since they never had the DIC as an option? Grab a wheel from an 04 and geta a refalsh.

Not sure if it can? I just changed rear diff. it only had 2.5 qts in it when I drained it? i put 4 back in and it's 1 1/2 " below fill plug.

CowboyWilldbill, you mentioned it showed a mileage drop and probably going thru regen.
I must have misunderstoor, does it use your 36 gal tank to do the regen or does it have a separate fuel tank for that?

It just uses the fuel from the 36 gallon tank. It has only been thru one regen in 1480 miles. So the fuel used is pretty minimal. Not to bad so far. I need to call JK and get some Total power, I am not sure what additive is safe to run in this DPF system. I used to run just a very small amount of premium 2 cycle oil in our LBZ, but I am afraid to do that in this one I hear it could harm the DPF.
