Can't accelerate hard

Was wondering if anyone ever had this problem. when I floor the pedal
the engine trips a code and I lose power, I can still hold a speed but I
can't accelerate anymore until I turn off the engine and start it up again
then it works fine and the engine light will go off after about 6 to 8 start ups. Not sure what the light is, waiting to get a scanner, Not that i'm
that concerned I never really floor the truck anyway but It just sounds like something is not right.

You can't really do much about it until the DTC(s) are identified. There are just too many possibilities. Once the SES goes out, you have only so many starts or warm-up cycles (depending on the code) before it clears from memory, so get it read ASAP.

In the meanwhile, change the fuel and air filters. It could be as simple as that.

I have changed the air and fuel filter a few weeks ago but no success, I will try and get the code soon.

I think I had the same problem you are experiencing. I changed my FPRV to a PPE race valve and fixed my problem. You can also shim your stock FPRV and get the same results. Hope this helps..
