I looked everywhere for information on the 4544 and could not find much. Can anyone tell me the differences between the two pumps? I have a newly rebuilt 4544 pump I purchased for another project that the wife had me liquidate and would like to use it on my 6.5 (1996) but have been told the 4911 is the one to use. Just trying to understand the differences before I put the 4544 on e-bay. Thanks!

The 4911 pump is the one used for the 92-93 6.5 TD engines (F)
The 4544 IP was used in the 86-88 HD 6.2 engines.

The 4911 has .310" diameter plungers and the 4544 has .290" diameter plungers.

The 4544 will bolt on, it will work and you can turn it up enough to get reasonable power levels.

If you already have the 4544 and its in top shape, just have the shop turn the HP screw up a tad or do it yourself.

There is a little triangle shaped cover on the lower RH side of the IP ( referenced with the IP on the engine and the RH side of the engine)

Remove the little cover, rotate the IP until the allen head screw comes into view. Turn the allen screw Clockwise 1/4-1/2 turn.

This will give you enough fuel for the turbo application.

The fuel output is not quite the same as the 4911 but close enough.

Have fun

Thank you Robyn! I'll probably use this pump since is has never come out of the shipping materials from the vendor. Appreicate the guidance!
