I have knocked a hole in the back lower corner my oil pan on my 1995 TD. I need to remove it to weld it up or replace the pan. While I have searched for an answer I haven't found a firm statement regarding the removal of the pan with the engine in the truck. Can it be done correctly, sealant application and all by lifting the engine. I do not want to risk not getting it sealed correctly as that would negate the welding up of the hole. I was going to snatch the motor out and put it on a stand and turn it upside down to fix it but if there is a reliable way to do it in the truck it would save a lot of work. The truck is 2WD C2500.

Looking for some explicite firm data regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance for any data you can provide.

Hi
How about welding in place? To drop the pan in the truck you need a fair bit of clearance under the pan to get it past the bearing caps.If it was mine i would try to weld it.
