the ignition switch got stuck on my truck 84 silverado 6.2 diesel so its running. is there any way i can turn it off without breaking the ignition?

Pull the pink wire on the injection pump (forward/top). You can also pull the IGN/ECM fuse, but it's easier to pop the hood and pull the wire. Then, disconnect the battery grounds to keep the ignition circuit from draining the batteries.

Don't try to choke it by blocking the intake. It can collapse the entire intake plumbing before it quits, and foul it with junk (if it quits at all). I've seen this done, and the heads had to be pulled to remove all the air filter pieces from the cylinders/valves (which is what finally killed it, not starving it of air).
