Advice on buying a used 08 Duramax

I'm planning to buy my first diesel truck when I get back from Afghanistan, just curious if anyone has had any issues with their 08 2500/3500 Duramax?

The DPF equipped Duramax powered trucks haven't produced all that many complaints, as long as you stay away from most tuners/programs/modules that add power. Fuel economy is mentioned more often. The reports I've seen indicate 13-14 mpg around town and 15-17 on the highway. Of course, a lot depends on how the truck is driven.
