View Full Version : GMC 6.5TD base model PU value? Look out for what?

I know this is kind of subjective, but I'll ask for honest opinions anyway.
I'm considering a base model 1994 GMC with a 5 speed. The truck is plain, with 130,000 miles. Cloth seats, AC, and Cruise. That's about it. Everything is in decent shape. No mechanicals, that I can tell. I'm new to modern diesels so I need help in what to lookout for. Price 3900.00
SHould I keep looking?

If you can find a Dealer to work with you,take the VIN number to them and run a history check.
This will let you know the work that has been done under warenty.

A 94 with 130K and it shows no work done :confused: :rolleyes:
This was the frist years with the new elect. pump. It took 94-95 years to get this pump working good. 94-95 had many problems with the pump and having no warrenty work done with in the 130k miles shows me that something a MISS. :eek: Another word,just can't be ;)

Just means that truck has never been to a dealer. No big deal. I looked in the older NADA ( April o5 national edition)and wholesale is 3600.00 and retail is 5200.00 this the for the wideside turbo diesel 2wd, so it looks like the price is good.( add 1200.00 if it has 4x4) But you have to take the condition into it. rust or collision dents would come off the price as would torn seat and bald tires. You might ask the guy were has he been getting his service or mech. work done and then ask that shop about it. Good luck.

You would think this truck would of used the warrenty other than outside source at some point of truck life. I agree,it's no big deal. Seems strange ;)

I misunderstood. I thought you meant a Title check. I am currently working with a local dealer to see if they'll check the warranty data. My bad.

WHAT IS NW N.C. ? I LIVED IN GREENVILLE N.C FOR 25 YEARS AND STILL HAVE SOME FAMILY DOWN THERE.
AT LEAST YOU KNOW NOW THE TITLE IS CLEAN. :D

IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS GIVE ME THE VIN. I AM IN GOOD WITH THE GM DEALER HERE.
