ECM woes

Changed the ECM today from S to F code. When I turned on the key the glow cycle went straight to after glow and no joy when tried to start. Pulled out the harness plugs on the ECM a bit, hit the key and had a full glow cycle. Tried to start but fired once and that was it. Waited a bit, tried again and same story. Fired once and that was it. It is now dark so I will be back at it tommorrow. Any advice?

This ECM is from a same year 2500 series truck.

Try to start again. When it fails to start leave the key ON run for a full 10 minutes. At the end of 10 minutes turn off for 30 seconds. Repeat and after 3rd cycle it should start.

Thanks JK. That is exactly what it was. Where would I be without the help from this forum.

There is definately a difference with the seat of the pants feel in the truck.

The glow cycle is definately shorter on this ECM so that will be my next issue to sort out.

A-pillar guages next so I can get the ecm reprogramed.
