2006 GMC Air-conditioning question?

My air conditioning isn't working properly. I have 2006 GMC 2500 w/a Duramax, Allison, and dual zone air conditioning. When I turn on the a/c it blows cold on both sides for a while, then it blows warm/hot on the driver's side. If I stop the the truck and turn it off, it seems to reset the a/c and it will blow cold on the driver's side again ( for a while). I'd like to get this fixed before the weather gets to hot.
