This may be a strange question, but I can't get the doughnut seal out of the passenger side exhaust manifold on my 87. The exhaust rusted out at the muffler connection, so rather than patch a peice in, I'm putting a whole new right side exhaust in place. The previous owner replaced the driver's side last year.

I've got the exhaust out, but cannot get the doughnut out of the manifold. I rattled a piece of pipe around inside the seal to loosen it , but can't get it. I'm tempted to try to collapse it using a hammer and punch from the side, but don't want to run the risk of leaving a small piece stuck in there.

So how do you guys get these out?

Got it out this weekend, stuffed in a new passeneger side exhaust and it sounds great. On the passenger side anyway.

The doughnut on the drivers side is leaking and really noisey under load now.
