How to disconnect Transfer Case linkage..help

Been reading my manuals...they tell you what to do...but not helpful on the "how to"

Anyway this is the last thing I have to do before moving the tranny...I have put a little pressure on these as they look like they just pop in and out....no luck..

Any insights?? or am i just missing something very obvious here?

There is a nut (13mm I think) that secures the selector arm to a shaped stud protruding from the transfer case. Remove this nut and jiggle the selector arm, it should come off with some minimal effort.

I was going to do that however I was afraid I might be unscrewing something internally,,,,that happened once before with devastating results!

I applied heat to the bushing and released it...my tranny guy said he can make it all better.
