Rear Main

[6.5 Detroit Diesel]

Digging into a buddies 94 K2500 w/NV4500, doing the clutch. Noticed the rear main is leaking a bit, how hard is to do, and what is required?

Doing the oil filter adapter while we are in there as well. :D

Replaced mine when I did my clutch. Remove flywheel, pull out old seal, press in new seal. Not a big deal.

Mine wasn't leaking, but since you're in there it makes sense to do all the little things like that.

yea, figured if we had everything out already, might as well do maintenance and do the rear main. thanks for the info, makes it nice and easy. did a rear main on an 83 6.2 once, and that was a little more involved, lol
