Serpentine Blet Question

This is the second serpentine belt I bought that is not within normal range of the stamped indicator of the belt tensioner. Is anyone else having this problem? Can someone send me the proper OEM part number for the serpentine belt?

95 6.5 suburban belt part# 14102104. At least that was one I bought back a few years. I think GM changes the part# every year or so. But they can cross that number over a few times. I never had a problem with a wrong belt from my GM dealer, Yet! smile.gif

These rigs were sold w/one of two alternators, 105 amp+/- and 125 amp+/-. You are probably getting the wrong one; they are diffetent length by a few inches. Tell the parts house that, along w/the part# they gave you last time & they should be able to give you the right one.
NAPA sold me both belts & said "just return the wrong one for refund." I've got hi-amp alternator, but I'll be horn-swoggled if I can figure out how to tell the difference; doesn't appear to be a name plate w/capacity spelled out.

I went through several belts for streching...

Bought GM belt ( goodyear) No Problems now

They should be able to get correct PN by yeay model etc.

Also, GM tensioner is different than after market
asm... Can Change Bearing on original.
Bring to NAPA they can match bearing....

Thanks everyone for the feed back. I keep shaking my head in awe that keeping the beast on the road is one thing, but getting two size belts.

My local NAPA took the recommended belt, checked it's listed length and sold me one that is 1/2" shorter. The difference is enough to get my tensioner back into the normal range.
