Does anyone know where where I can get a governor screw (rod) for a 1988 IP pump? The hex head broke off and leaks #2. I "think" I can back it out by taking the cover off the pump and wrench it out. Hope I dont have to spend $395 for a new pump just to use the screw :(

Contact the folks at www.usdieselparts.com (http://www.usdieselparts.com). They should be able to sell you the part you need for not a lot of money.

We may have some old DB2 pumps at work, depending on how nuts the boss went with gathering metal for a scrap run. I'm assuming the governor screw would be the same from a pump on a 4-cyl? If I can find one I'll slip it in an envelope and mail it.

There are two types, Ones has a lock-nut, the other is Allen headed with no locknut and sealing washer.
You'll be able to look and see.
I've got a source for these parts if you need, but I'll need to know which type.

Mine was the Allen Wrench type with sealing washer. I have the washer.
