Hey all,

My 01' just threw a P0700 code. I know this is just the generic code for something going wrong with the tranny. I have read that the early dmax's have a problem with crud/moisture getting in the NSBU switch. My truck shifts fine, no slipping, and the shift position indicator on my dash has not blinked or anything. Does anyone have any ideas? I am also getting a P1781, but i dont think the two are related. Or are they?

Thanks for the help guys.

Update:

I just changed the spin on filter and the magnet was clean. No shavings that I saw.

Also...

While under the truck I found oil or some kind of fluid (couldnt pin point what kind) didnt really smell, sprayed under the truck (not on ground, on frame and underbody panel, around the area where the driveshaft connects to the transfer case. Sorry, dont know the technical term. It looks like its been going on for a while. The shift linkage cable was especially oily.

I just went to the dealer and had the TCM code read. The codes are as follows;

P0181B- Fuel Temp Sensor
Range/Performance

In the history, there were P1781B
U1000- Class II data link malfunction
