Service 4wd message

Coming home from work today sevice 4wd light came on anybody know what triggers this message?

Could be an electrical connector, stepper motor, wire chafing, etc. Check the connections at the transfer case and front diff. In all likelihood, it's the switch cluster. Inexpensive, easy to replace, and not an uncommon failure.
