Is there formulas to match gear ratio to engine torque / power?
Not speed, Im looking for the best gear ratio for puling. The problem here is at my 4.56 ratio I get good pulling but no top end. I could get better pulling by raising the ratio and the same is true in reverse.
So the question is, how does GM set ratios based on torque curves, and what is the best overall ratio for the 6.5 with reasonable ~ 70 mph cruise and good pulling power. Consider standard tire ratio in this equation factory equipt.
