View Full Version : SES (Service Engine Soon) light- 1995 6.5 non-turbo diesel
Hello all-
My 1995 K1500 with a 6.5 nonturbo has the SES light coming on at random times. The truck runs great, but the light will come and go at totally random times. Any ideas on this? Or is there an easy way to disable the light? Thanks in advance and happy holidays.
Start by reading the codes.
What happened to the turbo? I though all '95's were turbos except for vans.
It is a factory non-turbo....

Being a 95, use the "paper clip" method to pull the codes causing the SES. You'll not find any worthwhile answers until you do this.
# 32- E.G.R. Circuit
AND
# 33-E.G.R. Control Pressure/BARO Sensor Circuit High (Low Vac)
What would I need to look for on this? One thing to mention- my vacuum pump went out about 6-8 months ago (bearings) and I replaced the complete vacuum pump with a new one from GM. It seems to work fine; would this be something to do with that?
Thanks in advance!

Check all vac. hoses at the selonoids & plastic t's. You may have to 'play' with them to see the tiny cracks. Use a flashlight ( as in CSI) to get close inspection. My well be the solnoid (s)
