needing to decide what to go with.

1) I can run the mechanical pump off my '89, which had the head gasket/hydro locked problem.

2) Run the electric which came off the K5 with cracked block. It work before block cracked. It is a Facet. I found these numbers on it (have no clue what they mean) -
e11*72/245*95/54*0536*00

3) New mechanical pump.

4) New electric pump.

I am trying to be good with my money. I have a turbo return fitting on my oil pan.

I recommend both, if you have that option. Mechanical for normal running, and the electric for priming (like after a filter change) and diagnosing problems. With a mechanical as a primary, you don't need the OPS, or any type of safety (which is required, by law, for an electrical). They live happily together, both will pass fuel when not used.

Otherwise, the mechanical is essentially trouble-free, while the electric can have regular issues. However, the electrical is really nice when you need fuel flow w/o the engine running.
