For the 6.2/6.5</a>

By Conley Janssen

The injector socket used to remove and replace the 6.2/6.5 fuel injectors is not an off-the-shelf item. Our choices have always been to either make do with a general-purpose 30-mm socket or buy the special socket produced for this application. I've developed a way to produce an injector socket that works much better than a general purpose socket, yet remains cost effective for the average truck owner.

More Power,
Please also post this article over on the 6.2 side! There would definitely be some parties interested in this. Thanks!

Was that socket short enough to do all on the turbo side? I've seen where guys have had to grind the shoulder on the much shorter Snap-On socket to gain access.

Howdy
I've never seen the snap-on socket but this one worked for all the injectors on my truck without removing the turbo. The next time I will remove the turbo just cause it probably is easier.

Do you have any injector jobs going now?

I bought a SnapOn socket and it worked fine on my 95. It was tight on two injectors but worked.

I did the same thing except I used a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter and ground flats on it till a 3/4" wrench fit perfect on it! Works good on the turbo side too! Beats takin off the turbo!!!!

I bought a socket adapter that has a hexed head, so you can put a wrench on it. I got it at Sears in the impact socket area. They make it for 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". It sure made life easier.
