Does any one know the part number for a fan switch. My high speed only works if you stop between 4 & 5 positions . 2 years ago fan and resistors were replaced..

No fan switch. You'll have to replace the HVAC control head (very easy to do). I may have one. There were 2 options in 2002, maybe 3 with the CC. Take a pic of the control panel and post it here, or send it to my email (link in signature). The dealer gets $150-180 for them, depending on the options. The one I have was swapped out at about 5K miles, works, and is like new.
I had to replace this switch twice in my '98 Suburban over 245,000 miles. It seems GM is still using too small gauge wires and other components is their switches. I wish they would belly up and increase the size of these things so they don't over heat and fail over time.
Oh well.

Took apart the fan switch to see what went wrong.. Plastic shaft was worn where the plate contacts slide over it.. Contacts end up stopping before or after on speeds 2 and 5 ..Was nothing to do with wiring.. but still have to replace..

I think I have one still in the box. I took it out of our 2002 GMC when it was new, I replaced it with the another Control Head switch that has the extra button for the heated mirrors when I added a set of after market mirrors. If he doesn't have the one you need then Let me know.
Just drop me a PM.
