08 GMC Savana "Changing the fuel filters"

Hello all,

I was wanting to know how to change the filters on my 08 Duramax van

I'm not sure if I need to prime anything like the pickups or just unscrew the two filters and replace them.

The vans have electric primer pumps. Change both filters and cycle the key from off to run, "do not start the truck" the pump will start running you should be able to hear it. After the pump stops "about 2 minutes" take the key out of the ignition wait 45 seconds then put the key in and repeat. you need to have the pump do this a total of 3 cycles "6 minutes of pump running" this will clear all the air out of the system and the filters will be full. Van will have a rough idle for about 5 minutes or so but should not cut off on you. I have a 06 with 321k on the clock and I change my fuel filters every 30k this way and have never had any problems with air in the system.
