does any one know how to rewire the head lamps so when you turn on the brights both beams stay on? have heard about this being done just sure how thanks!:cool:

It has been discussed here a good while back. In addition, I think Kennedy has a wiring harness as an upgrade for the headlamps. Memory recall is a tax on me but there should be a thread or two here somewhere.

You can do it by adding a diode to the circuit (high beams use reverse-ground to complete). However, I do not recommend this route. Your headlamp switch is at its limit with normal/OEM use. Adding more to the circuit will shorten the life, if it doesn't fry immediately. Kennedy (http://www.kennedydiesel.com) offers a "Headlamp Booster Kit" to make this happen, and lighten the load on the switch. With the kit installed, you can choose to have all four on, or normal/OEM type operation (simply plug in the diode, or not). It employs relays (one for each side) with independent batt+ source, and independent grounds. Ultimately, the headlamp switch only powers the relay, lessening the load and extending OEM switch and wire harness life. The kit is a bit spendy, but is high quality and complete with everything needed for a simple install. Once power and ground is sourced, it plugs into the original headlamp harness using OEM connectors. Highly recommended.
Another all lights on mod is to re-wire the BCM flash-to-pass input to the high beam switch. The FTP input turns all four head lights on .. Here's a schematic and pics for my 03 - BCM pin numbers may not be the same for all model years but the concept should work on any model. I also added a switch to return the circuit to stock for state inspection time.

be carefull with doing stuff like that. with 4 headlamps and 2 fog lamps, that makes 6 white lights viewable from the front center of the vehicle. that is against the law in the state of texas. yeah it's cheesey, but you never now when you'll run into a badge with an attitude. same goes for fancy clear tail lights....no red reflecters (also required by law..)

good point .. same in NY .. the Kennedy Harness, diode, and the FTP all headlight mods don't have this problem .. the BCM turns off the fog lights when switching on the high beams (unless this feature is intentionally defeated)

I have done the all six on headlight mod over two years ago using the diode upgrade. It does not add any additional load to the headlight switch because hi's, lo's and fog's all run on their own seperate relays. If you are paranoid about damaging the switch you can run the headlight relay kit from Painless Products. Just FYI, as long as you don't run with your hi beams on around other traffic no one will ever see all six lights on. But the up side of six headlights on is that you can see that deer at night in time to avoid it. In addtion to the all on headlight mod I have installed HIR bulbs. The light is impressive to say the least.
Yes it can be done cheaply with diodes, but you are still running telephone wires to the bulbs and getting significant voltage drop.
Like Dmax Mav said we have a kit with sealed relays that takes over the job of feeding the lights and removes all load from the OE harness. Install is relatively simple and we get you all 4 lights on high beam. There's really no need for anything more once you see how this works. Truth of the matter is, if you put too much light up close it can affect your ability to see through and to the longer distances especially in less than clear air, and when there is a lot of reflective material (signs/pavement, lines, etc) near the vehicle...

A suggestion on the circuitry above:
Replace the switch with a SPDT relay and use a SPST switch to power the relay only when the ignition is on. That way, you can disable it with the switch, but it will automatically revert to "stock" when the key is off.
