That is a cool tractor, i would have thought someone would have made a mechanical injection kit by now. I have found mechanical injection kits for the 7.3 powerstroke but no duramax.............chad

Probably be cheaper (and perhaps more practical) to buy a mechanical injected cummins and trick it out than to get a kit for a d-max due to the abundance of aftermarket goodies.

I have been looking at the cummins swap also, http://www.autoworldmt.com/ have been doing some cummins conversions... I want a mechanical engine just thought if i could change the duramax over it would be the simple way to go, the cummins is a great engine though....... Thanks...chad

no websites, these are just full blown pullers with all custom built parts.

Just curious why go mechanical? I don't know much about pulling or racing. What is the advantage of mechanical over common rail?

the common rail injection can't support the rpms nessacary to compete at the mod class level of competition. The one build i'm most familiar with is built to spin around 8000rpm and supply enough fuel for 2000+hp out of a block "based" on the production unit.

Matt, I guess that pretty much sums it up! That's some HP right there!

Hello, thanks for the replys, I think the mechanical injected are just more reliable, no computers to fail, i have several mechanically injected diesel trucks no problems, computerized ones have to be worked on every once in awhile....chad

I had a guy e-mail some information on how to build one, but it is pretty basic, i would have to have something with more information or in a kit form.. Thanks.....chad
