Borrow Compression Tester in CT/MA ?

I need to borrow a compression tester, to see if my 'Burb is worth fixing.

Yeah, I've actually been trying to use one of those, borrowed from a buddy. Can't get the quick connect fitting to seat on the adaptor, for many of the glow plug holes. The holes are located too close to the exhaust manifold. The only adapter which is even close to fitting, is quite short - 1.25 inches, so it doesn't extend out past the castings. On the longer adaptors, the nose is a much wider OD than the glow plug element, so it cannot be inserted deep enough to engage the threads.

FYI, the GM 6.5 isn't even listed in their pamphlet. The Duramax is. I got my hopes up when I saw the Hummer 6500 motor listed, but no luck.
