Does anyone have a front mounted hitch on a '89 - 2000 2500? Looking to put one on my 96 Suburban.
How low do they install below the front bumper?
Any photos of yours would be very helpful.

I've got one on my 94. Picked up a receiver tube and welded a piece of 1/4in plate to it. Drilled hole to match the bolts that hold the tow hooks in. It would be next weekend before I could get a picture.

That may be what I end up doing. I have been having trouble getting pics or specs of actual hitches that are supposed to fit - so I can't tell exactly what it will end up looking like. If you have any photos of your set-up, that would be great.

I've got one on my '95 K2500. We purchased a stock tow bar that is bolted using the mounts for the tow hooks.

Thought I recalled a front mount receiver by Warn & sure enough, when I checked their website, they have one. Also ran across a link from Hidden Hitch, which I did not look at.

A while ago, I put one on my dad's Tahoe (half ton). As Platina said above, it mounts where the tow hooks are. His had a small black valance that stuck down below the bumper. Just had to trim that a bit where the receiver stuck out. Pretty easy install. I don't recall the brand... probably Draw-Tite or Reese.

OK. I thought I had used flat bar, but it was angle iron.

So is that just attached to one side with the receiver off-center? Or am I looking at it wrong?

Yes. Your seeing it ok. All I was moving were portable light plants. The angle iron is 1 1/2 x 1/4. It's not like your going to pull anything down the highway with it.

If you need stronger, use a piece of channel and drill through the receiver so you can get the bolts and a socket up from the bottom. Weld the channel on C down with matching holes for the bolts.

I put one on my 93 on the passenger side bumper frame mount. It was very handy on that side as I was able to sight down the side of the trailer when I put it into the storage unit. I would suggest that for precision parking it works very well.

I've been thinking about doing this. It would be better for me to have this on, and put a 5 bike carrier on the front on when I am towing the RV. That would provide some weight on the front to help with weight distribution and steering, and provide extra space and easy access to the bikes. However, I do not know how this will interfere with the intercooler. Anyone done this with the frame mounted intercooler on?
