Has anyone ever been able to have the outer starter ear mount welded back while the engine is in the vehicle.
My ear is missing from about half the bolt hole out. The bolt still holds the starter up. but it would be nice to not wonder when the other hole is going to strip out and the starter fall out. I flattened the area on top and am exploring the possibility of making a bracket to solve this however building up the ear would be far more prefered method of repair but if I have to pull the engine I am not so thrilled about that idea.
