ZF Transmission problem

I have a chance to buy a zf 6 speed transmission out of a duramax i could use for my conversion, but its 2wd. Has anyone converted a 2wd tranny to a 4wd? Can it be done? Could i find the parts to do it? I know i would have to chage the input shaft to you just change the rear housing or is the whole case one piece.

From everything I've read on swapping in various cars, it is best and cheapest to have the whole donor vehicle. That way, all the wire harnesses and/or various control modules can be swapped too. Do you also have access to the gm tech ii? Sure it can be done. How much time do you have?
