Did GM make an 1982 G-Van with the 6.2, or was 83 the first year?

I'm pretty sure that GM didn't make a G-Van (G10, G20, G30) with a 6.2L Diesel in 1982 and that 1983 was the first year. I thought I would ask if anyone has seen or has owned one (or still does and or has proof).

I've got one in the family, no, not mine (otherwise the signature would be too long, if it isn't already), and was curious if it was the 1st year kind of thing...

I just came across a vandura that is listed as an 83 with a manufacture code of 1/83
It has the 2 headlight system rather then the 4 lights that all other 83's I have seen have.

My 1983 GMC Vandura 3500 diesel motorhome has the two headlights and a build date of 12/82

Seems like every 83-84 I've seen has had the two large head lights, 85 was the first year I started noticing the stacked headlights similar to the trucks.

Looks like 83 was the first year for a real engine, Diesel.
