Oil Pressure

I have a 2004 GMC LB7 engine with 65,000 miles, they changed the injectors at 45,000 miles.
For the first 50,000 miles when engine was under load and crusing the oil pressure reading was at 60 PSI and idle pressure was 30 PSI. Now I get 50 PSI under load when cruse and 20 PSI when idles. Is this sign of wear and tear for diesel engine. Thanks Sark

Same oil used?

I would be more inclined to think its a wear indicator of the OPS or the gauge itself, but you could always have the oil pressure tested by tapping a mechanical gauge, and compare the numbers...

In answer to your question, no, it has not been observed or suggested that oil pressure drops as Duramax engines are broken in, or used. In fact, they are fairly consistant under similar outside air temps and loads.
