I currently have 2 sets of 6.2l injectors. I would like to get 6.5L turbo injectors to go on my new build. The guy at the look injector shop told me that the 6.5l nozzles will not work on 6.2l injectors, basically telling me that I they were different injectors and the nozzles would not swap over. Is this true? They carry new bosch nozzles. He said the 6.2 nozzles would be fine, even though my 6.2l will be a built turbo'd engine. Cost to have them rebuild my 6.2l injectors would be around $200.
I can get new 6.5l bosch injectors from RockAuto around $340.
I will be running a fresh db2-4911 and a banks (for now) turbo.
what would you do?

The injector guy is right.
The long-body 6.2 injector cases will not accept 6.5L injector nozzles. The 6.5 nozzles were only designed to fit the short-body injector, and were never made for the long-body. The nozzle is a "cartridge" in the injector.
You'll either need to buy a set of 6.5L turbo injectors (case and nozzle already assembled) outright and install in your heads, or find some short-body injectors (83+ G-van 6.2, or 89-93 6.2L, or any 6.5L) and build a set.
Everything above applies unless you have an 82 engine, which only supports long-body coarse thread injectors.

If my '89 injectors are the short body type, I will be able to have 6.5l nozzles put on them correct?

If you've got the "054" body injectors, then yes you can use those. The number is the last three digits on the body.
