different tick, more rattle

I have read a little about people having ticks in their engine but mine sounds different, more of a rattle. It is comming from the passenger side, lower part of the motor, almost like something is loose. it only does it around 1300 rpm, give it gas and it stops but lift and right back to rattling. almost like something in the turbo is comming apart. anyone have an idea?

A couple things to check:

Downpipe bracket tab. Earlier models (01-02) are known to crack where it bolts to the exhaust manifold, and they can "rattle" at certain RPM's. Later models don't usually crack, but can, and they can also loosen, causing a rattle.

Intake plumbing. Check for anything contacting anything else. A common one is the intercooler pipe where it passes the fuel filter line elbow. If this one is neglected, it will chafe a hole in the pipe. Either condition can sound like a rattle.

Other than that or something obvious, you'll have to get in there with a stethoscope to locate the noise.
