LLy air box update????

The 06 LMM air box switch/update for the LLY also requires a re-flash of the ECM to fulfill the service bulletin.

?Does anyone know if this reflash is necessary??
?If so, to what benefit, and perhaps how much benefit??

My truck is running good with the update and I am not sure what I might expect to gain with the reflash. TIA bob..............

The reason for the PCM calibration is for airflow characteristics. It will calibrate the MAF/IAT sensors to the correct intake. It may improve economy and/or power (although probably not to a degree you can measure with the seat of your pants).

Some turn the MIl on after the airbox change and some don't. Run it and see what happens and go from there.

MIL was turned on in shop after extended key on engine off session. Cleared and came back 2 times then stayed off and has been off for 200 miles. The smoke I was producing on spirited take offs is now almost gone with the new filter/intake. Was hopeing someone would say, yes, better mileage but...........................................
