Screw-on fuel filter conversion

I saw a thread a few months ago on some forums about converting a 6.2 to a screw-on filter. Anyone have info on this? My stock filter housing is clogged with crap and veggie syrup. I have been wanting to convert it, now I have a reason to bite the bullet. Can I just use the Racor filter that Dr. Lee Swanger used under his truck? What micron should I get? Etc Etc, all help appreciated.
