intakes the same?

I'm curious if the intakes are the same on the early F code engines as they were on the late F code engines? (ie, if i could take an F code intake from a 1993 and stick it on my S code 1996, with little more than a tune to eliminate EGR)

You'd need to replace both the lower and the upper intake to get rid of any EGR stuff on an "S" engine. A lower intake manifold off a 1993 will not fit any electronic DS4 equipped engine. There is a notch on the 1994+ intakes that gives clearance for the PMD, not on the 1993 (will cause contact). This notch is on the #1 cylinder intake runner.

Find a vin F intake off a 1994 or newer.

Remove the PMD from the side of the pump and remote mount it.

(good idea anyway)

With the PMD out of the way it should fit. (92-93 intake)
