hi i was wondering what kind of resistance my glow plugs should carry in my 1995 6.5TD. the truck starts but seems to crank longer than normal.
I would not worry about resistance.
Yank the plugs out and check them one at a time with a wire to the center terminal and ground the body of the plug.
They should glow red to the tip within a few seconds (Dont hold the power on more than 10-15 seconds.
9G's are quick heats and will burn out easily if powered more than 10 seconds.
The 11G plugs are tougher but still dont get crazy with power on time.
If a plug only glows in the middle or not at all its toast.
Hope this helps
