July 31st will be the end of the production run of the Kodiak and Topkick Med duty trucks.

I think it's only temporary though. My sources have told me that ISUZU wants to buy the Medium Duty Franchise but they are going to wait for 60 days before making the purchase. It has something to do with the UAW and contracts I guess. I think that is one of the reasons the deal fell through with International Trucks.

Something on the evening news was saying they had a buyer. Isuzu wasn't mentioned, though that stands to make some sense.

Sure hope there are Kodiaks into the future.
Great MD platform...it would be cool to see them morph into a serious single axle semi tractor offering with a behemouth Isuzu diesel with 500hp through 10forward gears...air ride...sleeper option...:)
Yess I to hope that this fine line of "Little trucks" goes on.
My choice for a business class truck would be the Freightliner.
They can be ordered almost to suit your every whim.
I had a few years back speced out a business class with twin screws, small 13 spd fuller, full air, 350HP Cat
and all the goodies you could bolt onto it.
A custom protech pickup bed to top it off with a gooseneck hidout ball hitch.
The cost at the time was about $68K
Considering that the pickups were in the High $40k TO LOW $50k range, it was not a bad deal for sure for a very serious truck to use for towing etc.
6 place cab with all the creature comforts too.
GM offered a nice truck but the ability to totally spec it out was not there.
