LB7 High idle?

Would someone please tell me why anyone would want a high idle option for their Duramax??

To answer your question, directly:

-Hot summer A/C performance

-Higher amp charging (alternator has low output at normal idle)

-Extended cold weather idling

-Extreme cold weather warm-up

-PTO functions

-Other accessory needs.

Thanks for enlightening me. I pretty much use my GMC 2002HD, D/A for pulling a trailer so I don't really need the high idle for the reasons you stated.
