I will be wiring my alt up soon, I got the new plug for the alt "same part from the dual alt tech article"
I know one wire is for the exciter, what are the other 3 for??

The following link shows what the 4 wires are designed to do.

The P wire can be used to drive a Tach. roughly P = pulse
S is the voltage sensing wire.
a 300 - 500 ohm resistor is necessary to regulator happy.
A few pages to read, but the explaination is good.
